Island Center Forest

Known by old-timers as “The Statelands”, Island Center Forest’s acquisition by King County Parks was truly a community effort. The Land Trust and our island neighbors raised $4.7 million to preserve some of the most crucial Island open spaces.

ICF contains the headwaters of Judd Creek and is the primary recharge area for Vashon’s drinking water aquifer.

King County has built over 10 miles of multi-use trails (with more to come) for hikers, trail runners, equestrians, and mountain bikers to share. Island Center Forest is home to over 70 species of birds, which makes it a favorite for birders of all ages.
