Christensen Pond

Emma Amiad, our founder, was a realtor, so she knew what she was talking about. “There are fresh perk holes out there. We have to pin this down before it goes on the market.”

The Land Trust was already committed to the Christensen Creek watershed, having received donations of three conservation easements on private property (plus one later). Christensen Creek is one of Vashon’s larger creeks and is home to some of her oldest and most stately hemlocks and firs.

Christensen Pond is dedicated to the memory of John & Susan Konecki and Sarah & Richard Hacker.
