Tree Sale orders open!
Did you know native plants are a great solution to slow water flow, shore up eroding hillsides, and attract pollinators? Good news! We are offering 18 species of trees and shrubs this year. Online ordering opens January 6th and will continue through February 2nd. Order early: we will sell out! All plants are $12 for a bundle of 5 bare-root starts.
Stewardship Work Party
Did your New Year's resolution involve dirt, laughs, and habitat restoration? Good news! It’s time for our first Stewardship Work Party of the year!
Help the Stew Crew and your fellow volunteers "release" conifers at Christensen Pond. These are plantings from a few years ago that are starting to feel the pressure from invasive plants and grass, and they need our help to reach their places in the sun!
Bring water and appropriate clothing, we’ll have gloves, tools, and everything else 🍪
Tree Sale Pickup
The pick up day for this year’s Tree Sale is February 8, 2025. Pick-up is at the Fisher Pond Warehouse. (NOT the Land Trust building!)
IMPORTANT: After placing your order you must sign up for a pickup time slot using the following link.
This helps us avoid traffic jams at the pickup location as well as reducing your wait time.
Vashon Bird Alliance Work Party
Vashon Bird Alliance volunteers partner with the Land Trust every week to help maintain and restore habitat in Paradise Valley. They remove invasive plants, prepare new areas for planting, and plant native trees and shrubs that capture and store carbon and provide food and shelter for the whole array of local wildlife. And they have a great time doing it together! Come join the fun!
Meet at Judd Creek Loop Trail trailhead on the EAST side of 111th Ave. SW in Paradise Valley. Parking is along the road. [Note: This is not the Kneeshaw Trailhead parking lot, which is further north and on the west side of 111th]. Late arrivees can follow signs to the worksite.
Tasks: Removing holly, ivy, blackberries, & other invasive plants to prepare areas for planting this fall and winter.
Tools needed: Bring your own shovels and loppers, the odd weed wrench if you have one. A few extra tools will be on hand, but bringing your own helps make sure we have enough for everybody!
Attire: Please bring your own work gloves. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts are strongly recommended.

Matsuda Farm Volunteer Monday!
Despite the chilly temps, we've been hard at work at Matsuda Farm harvesting veggies for the Vashon School District, Food Bank, and incredible Island restaurants!
With all of this activity, we could really use a couple of hands for a very special Farm Volunteer Day. Let's get the band back together 😀
Tasks for the day:
Weeding, harvesting, and moving plastic for our tender little crops. It's getting cold, and they need a good tucking in!
Dress for the weather. It should be dry, but it may be chilly. We'll have the tools you'll need, but you are always welcome to bring your fave. Be sure to bring a mug from home; Elena is bringing coffee. (You're welcome, Ken 😎)
