Kirk has been involved with the Land Trust for 20 years. His initial interest included volunteering for conservation and trail projects. He joined the board 8 years ago. With the acquisition of Matsuda Farm , he has been increasingly involved with weekly volunteering on the farm and helping to grow healthy food for the island.

For Kirk, the camaraderie of the staff, board, and volunteers has been an ongoing positive experience. His other interests include running, backpacking, gardening and his family.

Kirk serves on the Farm, Stewardship, JEDI, and Development and Communications Committees.
