It’s that time of year again for our Annual Whispering Firs Bog Tour!
Tickets will go on sale on April 25th at 9:00am and can be purchased here.
Spots are limited to 10 folks per tour. If you have attended the tour in the past five years, please refrain from buying tickets this year. We want as many of our Island neighbors to have a chance to visit this very special place.

Vashon Bird Alliance Work Party
Join the Vashon Bird Alliance to help maintain crucial bird habitat at the Paradise Valley Preserve.
Tasks include removing invasive species—holly, ivy, blackberry, etc.—so that native plants can thrive.
Tools needed: Please bring your own shovels, clippers, and other favorite implements.
Attire: Please bring your own work gloves. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts are strongly recommended.
All of the Vashon Bird Alliances’s activities on the Preserve are planned out in consultation with our stewardship staff and following the Paradise Valley Preserve management plan.

It’s trail maintenance and invasive removal time at Whispering Firs Bog!
The bog is located on the north end of the Island. Heading north on Vashon HWY SW, the bog is just north of the Episcopal Church & Community Care Center on the EAST side of the street.
Please watch for the Land Trust at Work sign, as the trailhead is not well-marked. You will see other cars on the side of the highway.
Please park & walk along the road carefully. There is no parking lot, you will be parking along Vashon HWY SW.
Dress for the weather! Boots are recommended. We have gloves and the tools you’ll need, but feel free to bring your own, we know how it is to have a fave. Oh, and of course, there will be 🍪.

Earth Day Celebration
Join the Land Trust staff and board members at Dig Deep for their Earth Day celebration. We'll be passing out stickers, signing up volunteers, and answering questions about all things Land Trust.
Getting to Know Your Neighbors - Guided Plant ID Walk
John Browne, Ann Spiers, Kathryn True, and Terry Sullivan will name names and more as they guide you along the trail at Fisher Pond. Meet the trees, shrubs, ferns, and smaller plants that are common here (and maybe some not so common.)
